STEP 1 - (You) the Client and (I) the Artist, have a quick consultation.

I offer complimentary consultations, because I believe, the first step is also the most important step. In order for me to gauge what you are interested for in your commissioned artwork, I’ll start by asking a couple of standard questions:

- Do you have a specific *colour palate* in mind?

• If you do, great! If not, that's totally OK too. I can work with whatever you throw at me or don't!
• ...DON'T actually throw things!!

- Do you have a particular * concept * idea * theme * you would like represented?

• If you don't, it's Ok! These questions aren't deal breakers, they just help me narrow it down a bit and give you an idea of what options/possibilities there are!

- We'll discuss:

* Additional Mixed Media :

• What mixed media means, and I'll give you an idea of what type of * add-on’s are available, what's included or not!

* Canvas sizes and Pricing:

• The sizes that are available - and their coordinated prices
• How pricing works - What the difference between Base Price and Total Price is, how the Deposit works & so on!

- Usually, 15 mins is plenty of time for all the details. I will also be able to answer any questions you have, and give you an estimate on creation and delivery times.

• After our initial consultation, you’ll have a good understanding of everything there is to know about my Services and if you would like to proceed. However, there will be no rush in making a decision. Take your time!

* I want you to be confident moving forward in your decision to commission my artwork - so in order to find out all there is to know, let's start with your free consultation, and go from there. 

* To claim your complimentary consultation, you can either fill out my contact form (found near the bottom of my FAQ/Contact Page) or you can Email: info@juliavaughanart.com and I will get back to you with some possible times and send you a 'Zoom meeting link', once we confirm.

Here are the top 10 unique qualities of my artwork (in my opinion)

• Born in moments of transformation, my artwork tells a story. Fusing bold expressions, cosmic themes, and visual textures. Vivid contrasts create a hypnotic interplay of energy and movement.

• I use swirling patterns, dynamic transitions of colour and the tension between the light and the dark to convey emotion, evoke memories, and transport viewers to another world.

• My artwork takes the viewer on a tactile journey, capturing a moment, a feeling, a concept, or an idea that speaks to the soul.

• I use mixed media to transform the canvas into multi-dimentional landscapes, adding texture and depth to my artwork.

• My use of crystalline elements, as well as metallic and iridescent tones in my artwork creates a sense of raw beauty, geological formations and cosmic wonder.

• There are two sides - (or as I call it) a duality to my artwork:

1. Daylight - shows off intricate details, inviting veiwers to explore the organic mystique of each piece.
2. UV light - transforms my artwork into an electrifying and glowing display of colour - against contrastingly dark backdrops.

• I layer and then seal all of my work with Epoxy Resin, which ensures lasting shine and protection over time, while adding to the layers of depth under the glass-like surface of each piece. 

• I build each layer with intention. Each detail contributes to the overall narrative of the piece, infusing storytelling into my art through abstract expressionism.

Enthralled with the art of storytelling since a young age, my intrigue in expression has only become more pronounced as I've gained life experience. Having been inclined towards the arts throught my entire life, has also led to my Diploma in Acting for Film and Televison from Vancouver Film School and my afinity for craftmanship as a whole.

To maintain the vibrancy and longevity of your 'UV light reactive' artwork, follow these simple steps:

• Display it in a location away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.

• Regularly dust the surface with a soft, dry cloth, and avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

• If your artwork ever needs a good cleaning, a spritz of non-abrasive glass cleaner and a soft dry cloth is all you need for an effective cleaning. Lightly spray the dry cloth, then using the cloth in a circular motion, wipe your artwork clean.

• When using UV light to enhance the glow effect, ensure the light source is appropriate and does not emit excessive heat.

- Currently, I operate primarily online and do not have a physical studio open for visits. However, I provide detailed images and descriptions of each piece on their respective pages through my art shop/website - to help you make the most informed decisions as possible.
